Dr. Anthony Ralph-Edwards is a cardiovascular surgeon at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, University Health Network, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He has been a member of the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery for more than two decades and is internationally recognized for his expertise in the surgical management of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM).
As the surgical lead for the HOCM Program at Toronto General Hospital, a national and international referral centre, he has performed more than 1,500 septal reduction procedures and has developed innovative surgical techniques that have contributed to exceptional patient outcomes.
His clinical practice also focuses on complex coronary revascularization, valvular heart disease, cardiac rhythm device implantation, and lead extraction.
Dr. Ralph-Edwards has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has played an important role in clinical research evaluating surgical outcomes and advancing evidence-based cardiovascular care. Through his commitment to surgical education and mentorship, he continues to help train future generations of cardiovascular surgeons.
